Mike Kilbane

Michael J. Kilbane, CPA, 53, is currently a Principal and the President of Captive Resources, LLC, a Schaumburg, Illinois based consultant devoted to the formation and administration of captive insurance companies. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors and Secretary and Chief Financial Officer of Martingale National Insurance Company, an Illinois domiciled, multi-state licensed property and casualty insurance carrier; the Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of a Cayman Islands domiciled billion dollar plus investment fund; and Chairman and CEO of Kensington Management Group, Ltd., an insurance management firm in the Cayman Islands. Michael was a Leader of the Management Team that acquired the assets of Captive Resources and sister company Kensington Management Group in the Cayman Islands from its publicly held parent company in 2002.

Prior to joining Captive Resources in 1993, Michael was the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President of a Chicago based international consumer products manufacturer with plants located throughout the U.S. As CFO, Michael was instrumental in placing key insurance coverages within captive insurance programs, which resulted in significant cost savings and improved loss control techniques. Michael began his career in public accounting with a focus on audits of middle market, privately held companies with a regional CPA firm based in Chicago.

Michael recently completed six years as a JDRF Illinois Board member, including two years as the Busse Woods Corporate Chair for the Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes; and a JDRF Gala Committee member and fundraiser. He also served on the Finance Committee of the JDRF International Board. Michael began his second term as a JDRF Illinois Board member in June, 2010.

Michael graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and received his CPA designation after completion of his degree at Bradley University.
